Military Retention and Recruiting Programs

Abstract

The U.S military has one of the best retention and recruiting programs in the world. The retention and recruiting programs that will be discuss are as follows educational benefits, health benefits, compensation and pension and OJT (on the job training) for a number of job opportunities a person can take advantage of during your military service and once your career is over. Educational benefits is one of many recruiting tools the military service offers. The GI Bill, sometimes called the Montgomery Bill or the Montgomery GI Bill, provides veterans with money for school For a mere $100.00 dollars a month for one year a Service member will get over 61,000 dollars for education for 2 years of service. The medical benefits are just as good, while serving in the military all medical and dental is granted to all service member’s including their spouse and children free of charge. Another retention and recruiting tools discussed will be compensation and pension, where else can you work 20 years and start receiving your retirement pay the month after you retire and last but not least would be the opportunity to learn a trade or special skill. These benefits serve as great retention and recruiting tools used to recruit and retain soldiers and at the same time keep our military combat ready.
