Scholorship Q

1. List education, work, volunteer experiences and honors received. Please include amount of time devoted to each.

I have spent numerous hours on all my Volunteer work, but I have never kept track of how many exactly. Since June 2009, I have volunteered with the NJROTC program at the Crook County High School in Prineville, OR. I help them prepare and setup for home competitions and events, supervise the youth during events, work with the community organizations at the local events, help train the students for the competitions and fundraise in the community for the program and events. Since September 2012, I have volunteered my services as a nonprofessional photographer for private families in Prineville, OR that can't afford senior pictures. I organize the photo-shoots, edit the photos and distribute them back to the families. In the summers of 2007 through 2012, I would entertained the elderly of my grandmother's Assisted Living Home in San Andreas, CA by singing and playing guitar. I also communicated and built relationships with the residents because they wanted someone to talk to. However, after my grandmother passed I stopped going to California.

For honors, I have made it on the Dean’s List almost every term and I am graduating with High Honors from Central Oregon Community College in June of 2015.

2. Why should this scholarship be given to you over other qualified candidates

When it comes to scholarships, I wish there were enough funds to give to all qualifying candidates, but I realize that is not always possible. I hope that I would receive this scholarship over other qualified candidates based upon my dedication and determination to finish college no matter what. I am persistent and when I want something, I keep at it until I succeed. My strength comes from what I have been able to accomplish in my life so far, whether it be on my own or I receive some help.
