When societies began developing, the primary use of labor was humans. This, however, changed as a technological revolution occurred. Major advancements were made in the use of technology. One area of advancements was robotics. The use of robotics has become more common in society in the past couple of years. Robotics have been used for medical, defense, daily use, and many other reasons. The use of robots in society has its pros and cons.

Robots can be used for daily activities. In recent times, robots have been used to do tasks that humans had once done. The military has begun to use robots as a primary source of weapons and bomb deactivation. Tasks that are too dangerous for humans can now be done by unmanned vehicles and remote controlled machines. Military robots include the SWORDS robot. The SWORDS robot is currently used in ground-based combat. Unmanned combat air vehicles (UCAVs), are used for a wide variety of missions, including combat. Robots are also used for medical purposes. In the past, robots were used as simple assistants to ease the life of people who needed it. FRIEND was designed to assist the elderly and disabled with common tasks, such as, preparing and serving a meal.

In modern society, there are many advantages of using robotic technology. Robots have the capacity to dramatically improve product quality. Work done by robots can be performed with great precision and high repeatability every time. This level of consistency can be hard to achieve any other way. With robots, the speed of production increases. This can be seen by the use of the assembly line. The assembly line was created to produce products with ease and speed. Additionally, because robots have the ability to work at a constant speed without pausing for breaks, sleep, vacations, they have the potential to produce more than...
