D1- Evaluate the potential long term effects of these 2 types of abuse on the health and wellbeing of adults

Physical:

Although there are many short term effects to a persons health and wellbeing the long term effects can be much more damaging. Physical abuse has a lot of long term mentalhealth effects. Many people often suffer mental health disorders such as PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) or depression dependant upon how severe the abuse was. In most cases physical abuse goes on for a long period of time so begins to chip away at a persons mental health which can take a very long time tog et over with things such as counselling. However there are physical issues that can come from physical abuse, again depending upon the severity of abuse. A person who was constantly pushed over during theit abuse may suffer from hip and joint problmes where these have had so much damage over time. There can also be a lot of tissue damage caused by constant bruising over time and it can become very sensitive.

Neglect:

Neglect can potentially cause a lot of harm to a persons mental health over time as when as physical. Mentally a person can suffer from health problems such as depression or isolation. A person who has been subjected to negelect may become very isolated and estranged from people where they were left on their own for such a long time. They can become very stressed when in any situation that reminds them of their abuse, such as being left alone for a longer period of time than they should. People can suffer from anxiety in situations where they feel they have been along for too long or if introduced to new people that theyre not used to. Physically a person can suffer a range of health conditions. Depending on what the severity of the neglect was a lot of people can suffer from eating disorders such as anorexia where they didn’t get enough nutrition. This can mean that long term their bodies are weakened where their organs had to work harder to keep going...
