Professional Development Plan

In my professional development plan I will be analysing myself to develop new skills and behaviours. For this specific plan I will cover three forms of diagnostics. A self personal goal, a group working goal, and an academic goal.

Personal goal-

For me, I think this goal will be the most adequate to pursue my development and to achieve future goals. Improving my punctuality is key to becoming a more efficient, desirable person. Using this as my personal goal will benefit not only me, but my studies and working environments too. This will make me become a more sophisticated person, and help me gain other skills which will improve my personal life. A key element to improving punctuality is being well organised. I need to develop more of an urgency for planning, making sure that each task I approach has been well thought about and analysed. I also need to focus on my time-constraints fairly frequently to be able to acquire better punctuality. There are many ways to measure whether or not I am improving my punctuality. For example, the time I arrive to lectures. Another example could be attendance at work, i.e arriving a few minutes earlier than expected. Punctuality is hard to measure on a scale of evidential based progress, however the examples above are a few ways to record whether there is improvement. Other than that, mentally recording progress may be one of the best ways for developing this skill. I think improving my punctuality will help tremendously for the present, and my future. Reason being is employers focus massively on punctuality, and I think with improvement I can appeal to employers.

Group working-

My team working skills are to standard of which I am happy, however I know there is room for improvement. Which is why I think this goal can help my development immensely.
