American One Car is moving to a new location and is in need of a network design. A network should be designed around its expected uses to prevent further complications in the future. There are no one size fits all solution as each network will have its own needs and complications. When moving into a completely new location there can be a benefits and complications. Benefits can include lessons learned from the previous business location and the changes that were required over time for the business to thrive. This can include what worked for the old location and the adjustments that needed to be made over time to fix flaws in the network. With a new network there are several facts that need to be considered. Is there any infrastructure in the new location or will the location need to be configured from the ground up? Will a wireless connection provide the security and bandwidth needed for your business to succeed? Are there current technologies that your business can grow into and if so what is needed for those networks to be compatible with your current network? How many devices will be connected? This includes wireless phones, tablets, IP phones, computers, printers, servers, and file storage devices for example. What is the physical layout of the new business? If there is drywall for walls this will not provide many issues, but if the building is multiple floors and is primarily constructed of cement the install cost and possibly the equipment cost will increase.

America One Car’s dealership will be designed to use current networking standards which include a mesh network comprised of Ethernet and wireless networking. This will provide the best capabilities for expansion and also keep costs low while not requiring a wired connection to each device.
