WW II WORKSHEET
WW II was a unique war in world history. It is vital that students understand general background information concerning WW II in order to better understand US involvement in the war. Therefore, these questions will reflect both of these aspects of the war.
1. List three reasons WW II was different from all wars prior to it.
A. First of all it had many completely different countries that were never included in any other war, including World War I.
B. A dictatorship in Germany was started by a soldier who fought in a war that resembled this one.
C. Powers of a few countries had formed which created the Axis Powers and the Allies.
2. List the three nations who were most dissatisfied with the outcome of WW I.
A. Germany
B. Italy
C. Japan
3. What was the major reason the US retreated into “isolationism?”
The major reason the US retreated to isolationism was because its people didn’t want to get into the war that was already going on were Germany, Italy, and Japan were the supreme powers.
4. During the 20’s several attempts were made to achieve a stable peace after WW I. List them and match them with their description.
A. Kellogg Briand Pact 1. Renounced war as national policy
B. Treaty of Locarno 2. Guaranteed Ger/Fr boundary
