The paper that I am writing today will talk about communication and listening. Furthermore, I will be answering some questions and analyzing my personal results for the student listening inventory. Communication occurs when two or more individuals interact with one another. Individuals communicate by verbal and nonverbal communication and listening to both verbal and nonverbal communication. Also, verbal communication includes the usage of words and language while nonverbal communication concentrates on message components other than words to show meaning.

Effective communication extends the concept to require that the message content is received and understood by someone in the way it was intended. The main objectives of effective communication include creating a perception, changing behaviors and acquiring details. Communication is a process in which two or more individuals, sharing details such as ideas and feelings. Communicating is more than just talking, writing and hearing, it’s the warmth feeling of a hand, a look in a person eye’s or just a nice gesture. I think that there are a few theories on gender differences in communication, one that some differences are innate and the other one is learned.

Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills are beneficial in the workplace. Some businesses spend a lot of money to train their staff members on how to effectively communicate. Excellent communication skills go beyond meetings and conversation, but employees and meeting participants must know how to write well in written reports and emails. Understanding the advantages of effective communication helps businesses place a concentration on creating a workforce that can communicate with the business and with clients.
