Abstract

Although several research scientists continue to make constant effort to bring awareness to people about the major disadvantages of high sugar content diet through their articles and journals, it is not really causing any major impact in the public that could transform their minds and get health conscious. Statistics from various prominent sources indicates that there is substantial growth of fast food consumption in the United States every year regardless of the precautions suggested by various research scientists. Fast food has become an everyday diet for more than one-third of the U.S adults in the current generation, and it is the main reason for many adults to suffer from weight gain and other health hazards.

Therefore it is high time for the government to consider the seriousness of fast food drawbacks in the long run which could affect the sustainability of the public health as well as the economic stability of the country. The more calories with high saturated fats and high content sugar an individual consumes, the harder the liver strives to digest it. The more junk food they eat, the more health problems they create and spend for the health improvement. High fructose corn syrup usage in the beverages must be reduced to required limit by the government to prevent disastrous health consequences in the future. Government regulations could bring significant changes to this scenario by imposing stringent laws against fast food chains which are violating nutritional guidelines and hence promote a healthy living environment for every citizen of the country.
