"We, the People, are the Rightful masters of both Congress and the Courts - not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the Constitution. - Abe Lincoln" (A Voice of the People, September, 9, 2009 ). I​t is and will always be the right of the citizens of the United States to voice concerns for a change in local and federal government. Officials are voted into federal office with the hopes that the needs of the average citizen will be recognized and carried out. When a member of the government has not performed the duties laid out before him/her to the expectations of the citizens, what actions can be taken to recall this individual before the end of his/her term? The information presented below will asses the pros and cons of adding a clause to U.S. Constitution, allowing the recall of officials before the span of time elected to office has expired.

Should the Constitution be amended to give voters the right to recall an officer in the legislative branch, executive branch, or judicial branch, before the officer's term expires?

According to Section 3 of Amendment 14, “No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.
