Introduction

A broad stroke review is Werner and Thompson financial management firm recently put Firoz, an account assistant on a three- month probationary review due to lack of organizational communication skills and client complaints(Daft,2014, p.589). Werner is the managing partner who hired Firoz and has high expectations for to succeed within the firm. However, Beatrice has disregarded Firoz shortcomings in the area of downward and upward communication.

The pending decision is will Beatrice fire Firoz or continue professional development in the area of organizational communication. Cathy Putnam is Firoz’s supervising account manager who has brought the reoccurring organizational communication issues to Werner attention. Cathy is very stern in her recommendation to fire Firoz. Werner is conflicted to fire Firoz due to cultural sensitivity (Daft, 2014, p. 589).

Analysis

The Werner and Thompson accounting firm has a problem with organizational communication and cultural sensitivity. Fiorz has been characterized as a low-performance employee because of language barriers and ineffective performance in communicating with management and clients. The organizational communication, conflict between Putnam and Fiorz is that Putnam is at the frustrated stage of communication with Firoz. Putnam has conveyed to Firoz to sharpen his written communication and speaking abilities when communication with clients (Daft,2014, p.589). According to Spaho, there are four stages in organizational communication and conflict management. Latent conflict stage addresses differences in goals and organizational independence.
