In a world filled with misery and pain, whose fault can be blamed for this cause? Could it be the “noble” sir Victor Frankenstein, or is it the seemingly terrible Monster that he created? It would be easy to point fingers at the Monster being as that he is the one who committed the crimes, but is he really the one at fault? I believe that rather than the Monster getting the full blame for his acts, Victor is the one who is truly at fault for his wrongdoings.

From the very first moment of Victors dark, evil plot, the Monster’s fate had already been sealed. It was destined to be hated, never to be loved, and forced to be a lonesome creature as he roams the Earth looking for anyone to share his sympathies with. What Victor saw as beauty while in has maddened state, to others was truly that of utmost horror. His creation was grossly disfigured, a cruel combination of many limbs from past beings. With this, as soon as he breathes the essence of life into the creature, he truly realizes what he has created. “How can i describe my emotions at this catastrophe, or how delineate the wretch whom with such infinite pains and care I had endeavoured to form?”(P.43) or “..but now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart.”(P.43). Both of these quotes show that as soon as Victor finished creating the Monster, he realizes that in his fit of insanity it had tainted his view of beauty. As soon as he comes to his senses, he dispels his creation in which he has spent years working on, claiming it as a demon or a wretch whom should never be allowed to walk the Earth.

Aside from Victor dooming this poor soul since before its very existence, he did nothing to help his own creation. The Monster was forced to live on its own and learn how to survive while still being state of dazement and confusion. He had no knowledge of anything, he had to learn through his own but very limited devices. Eventually he managed the basics...
