Weber argued modern society creates groups and follow things based on their values, inheritance and relationships. There many different types of rationalism developed during the late 18th century and into 19th century. For instance fordism works by focusinng on higher productivity be standardizing the output,by implementing machines such as conveyor assembly lines. Another pioneer of rationalism was taylorism which focuses on machine and worker effiencey. Wherease fordism combines them as one unit and large emphasise on minimizing the cost instead of maximization of the profit.

Bureaucratic structures help allow a organisations to rationally organize social groups to efficiently accomplish goals. Hierarchy systems are set-up to enforce rules and control. A characteristics of bureaucracy is adding people into the ever changing hierarchy, this creates a large scale organization. Max webber stated on subject“The fate of our times is characterized by rationalization and intellectualization and, above all, by the disenchantment of the world.”

Mcdonaldization a theory developed by George Ritzer suggests that our modern society is many respects becoming progressively more predictable and standardized.Fordism and scientific management are not as relatable to mcdonaldization as it focues on low wage and less insecure type characteristics. Whereas fordimsm focuses on standardized and more intensified work for higher wage and more incentive. George ritzer father of mcdonalization stated on social institutions as being “The system is run by the few with the few as the main beneficiaries. Most of the people in the world have no say in these systems and are either not helped or are adversely affected by them”.
