Do you think Ethics should be taught and/or addressed in colleges/university?
Do you think such courses would lessen potential future ethical issues in
corporations, Particularity as global companies become the norm, due to the
Internet and other related technologies?
E
thics is an ultra significant subject and it seems very difficult to
encircle its bases. Most people confuse “ethics” with “morals.” The first word
comes from the greek word “ethos” and the second from the latin word
“mores” but both have the same signification “mores.” Morals are culturally
and rel
igiously based on distinctions of right and wrong, therefore they can
be defined as the behaviours of a person. Ethics can be defined by
Churchill’s aphorism, “a systematic rational reflection upon that behaviour.”
I believe that
teaching ethics in colleges and universities will give the basis
in order to reduce ethical issues in the workplace. Teaching ethics seems to
be a major concern “Ethics teaching was a starting point, for a number of
activities,” (report of World Commission on the ethics of scientific knowledge
and technology COMEST- UNESCO 2005.) A
pproaching and teaching ethics
means first to admit that this notion is neither a relative nor the practical
context of a country, but a general rule for all. This teaching must be really
practical in order to be efficient. In fact, training ethics is particularly
appropriate in the real world and of course within the companies.
We live in an individualistic and globalized society. Teaching ethics
might be possible in order to develop a more just and philanthropic society
with a certain humanistic conception. is a very ambitious and probably
