1. One of the characteristics discussed in this chapter that I see in Jason Jacobs is execution intelligence. Jason Jacobs was able to execute his business idea successfully. Firstly, Jason successfully raised money in order to develop his business. Secondly, he developed a business model, which appeared to be very effective. After launching the RunKeeper application in 2008, he allowed runners to track and share their runs. The execution intelligence that Jason Jacobs implemented to RunKeeper’s application has allowed his application to be one of the top selling apps in the ITunes store. In addition, this invention has been downloaded millions of times and shows to have a high retention rate. A high retention rate means that his application was able to get ‘’customers’’ to return for multiple visits.

2. RunKeeper’s basic download is free, which adds an exemplary user experience for the customer. Another advantage of the free download is that it allows customer to try the basic features of RunKeeper for free. The Premium feature, which costs $10, offers additional features for customers. The ideal customers for RunKeeper’s services are people who have an interest for running/jogging. RunKeeper allows them to track their progress in order to become better runners.

3. I think it would be relatively easy for other companies to imitate what RunKeeper does. The concept is fairly easy, however, the hard part for other companies is that customers usually prefer to use a product or service that they are familiar with. RunKeeper is known for engaging its users from the beginning and they generated a vast community. This will not be very easy for other services to accomplish.
