Bob is clearly an overworked child psychologist with limited resources, space and time. It's quite possible that Bob doesn't know what is expected of him as far as how often he is to report on his patients. Yes, Bob did receive emails but not only did he not have enough time to read, complete and return them, he didn't realize just how important they were to his job performance and security.

It appears that Harriett never fully communicated to Bob what his duties were and just how necessary certain tasks are such as monthly reports. However, Bob never communicated to Harriett that he is overworked, how much paperwork he has to complete everyday, that he is unable to take appropriate breaks during the day to regroup and take a breather. He has never even expressed that his office is too small or that his air conditioner hasn't been working.

Due to the lack of communication between manager and employee, a preventable situation quickly resulted in Bob losing his job and the school losing a much needed child psychologist.

Some of the stakeholders and people that will be effected due to Bob being terminated would include the customers (students and parents), co-workers, teachers, the principle, the county and the school board. The students and parents look to him as someone they trust and feel comfortable with, giving them support in a time of crisis. The teachers know they can trust Bob to follow up with their referrals of troubled children and their families. Also the principle holds Bob in high regards. The county and school board entrust Bob to maintain the well being of students that require psychological counseling. Co-workers and other psychologists expect Bob to carry his case load so they do not have to add onto theirs. With Bob losing his job, this effects many people, not just Bob.

Hopefully Harriett will be effected by this and realize that she needs to improve her communication skills and be more clear about expectations. The part time psychologists...
