INTRODUCTION:

Most of the business are now-a- days growing large and complex. Most of these companies struggle with the management of the process and data. In this report we are going to propose a Data warehouse and business intelligence system for an E-Commerce company. E-commerce is one of the most rapidly expanding fields in the recent information technologies. These companies will have to manage a lot of Data and processes in order to get going in the market. If they did not use their Data correctly then they will tend to lose their Market Share. In challenging times good decision-making becomes critical. The best decisions are made when all the relevant data available is taken into consideration. The best possible source for that data is a well-designed data warehouse. Therefore, Business Analysis of E-Commerce will become a compelling trend for Competitive Advantage.

The Concept of Data Warehouse is Simple. Data is Extracted Periodically from the application that supports the Business processes and is copied in to Special Dedicated Computers where the Data is Structured, Organized, and Formatted from other sources. This Resulting Data Warehouse will become the main source of Information for Report Generation, Analysis and Presentations through Ad-Hoc reports, Portals and Dashboards. The Business Intelligence system will help to provide the information that is ready for Decision. They will help to analyze the Current and the Long term trends and give them continuous feedbacks about the Decisions taken.
