Introduction
How many organizations feel the pressure to streamline their operations in order to save money in this tough economic time?
Most time an organization tends to overlook the printing cost. It has been estimated that companies are spending 1-3% of revenue on printing and copying.
So today the proposal is about how to reduce office printing costs and how to be more environmentally friendly.
Paper and paper products accounts for more than 1/3 of all Canada’s waste.

Purpose
In recent year executives have come to the realization that their actions have an effect on our environment, one that can be traced back to the origins of the products they are manufacturing or purchasing. “Therefore, executives no longer can ignore the facts. All companies can make an impact – they impact the environment, other companies, local communities and they impact the lives of their employees.”
* According to a Citigroup Environmental Defense study, the average employee uses 10,000 sheets of paper every year. The actual cost of printing is 13 to 31 times the purchase price of the paper used. It is actually somewhere between $.06 and $.13 per page to print. Printer ink costs nearly $10,000 a gallon. It has been estimated that companies are spending 1-3% of revenue on printing and copying.
It might not seem a lot of money.
Ie. Revenue $500,000 * 0.01% = $5,000
$500,000 * 0.03%= $15,000
What about Toner cost, paper cost, space storage cost (labour cost), service cost, energy cost?
How about the time it required us to pull records for legal or audit purpose situation? It requires man power, printing and paper. (not only that in some cases the file is not readable or the file lost in some cases)
