Elon Musk

Elon Musk was born in South Africa in 1971, he’s currently CEO of SpaceX, Tesla Motors and was Co-Founder of Paypal. Mr. Musk was only 28 when he sold his first company (Zip2) to Compaq for a whooping $307 million. He’s had many accomplishments with the various companies he's worked for and like every business man - he’s no stranger in taking risks. An article written by the “Economist”, explains Mr. Musk’s humble beginnings and how his innovative mentality was a pivot to a successful career. Whether he’s working on a new car or launching a new rocket, Elon Musk has 1 solely mission - “help human beings come a multi planetary species”. His unique vision and determination to save the world is admirable but before becoming a billionaire he risked all his money to fund projects such as SpaceX($100m) and Tesla ($70m) which were in the brink of bankruptcy. Almost every successful business active today can relate to the early struggles that Mr. Musk went through. A grand vision must be combined with a relentless focus on detail. Mr. Musk is a prime example of chasing your dreams - starting from nothing and now a multi-billionaire. Much like Steve Jobs in Apple, Elon Musk was once fired from Zip2 and PayPal, which later he returned and turned the company around. Success is never guaranteed, this article goes in deep detail explaining Mr. Musk’s risk as a business man and how he foresaw his company growing exponentially. I believe as a businessman, you need to be able have a vision and the courage to take risks.
