Question 1

In the OJ Simpson case the prosecutors wanted more conservative white jurors. But, OJ’s lawyers wanted jurors who could identify with him and sympathize for him. Naturally they looked toward blacks, because they might be more likely to think that he was set up. Furthermore they wanted people who liked football or respected OJ. The defendant lawyers also favored women because women more likely to fall in love with a famous attractive defendant. The jury selection had a huge impact on the trail. All 12 were democrats, five of the jurors had someone in their family run into a problem with the law, five also thought using physical force with family could sometimes be ok, and nine jurors thought it was unlikely that he could have committed a crime because he was such a good football player. This jury selection pronounced OJ innocent despite the evidence. The selection of 1 African American Male, 1 Hispanic Male, 8 African American Females, and 2 Caucasian Females was a very promising jury in OJ’s favor.

Question 2

Getting a wedding ring is a conditional gift because the wedding ring is a gift with a condition that must be met in order for it to be a gift. If the condition is not met than it is no longer a gift. The ring should return to the man if the marriage does not go forward because the condition for it to become a gift was never met.
