Assignment Three

Rob’s Idea of the new evaluation system is very complex in my opinion and not very fair. I believe this evaluation tool should be on a personal level and not depend bonuses nor increases based upon your peers and colleagues. This can always bring in problems as to everyone’s opinion and outlook are different and all are going to want a raise in income. Instead of being rated the correct and fair way, team workers will always dislike something about each other and using that method he wants to implement will not be the most effective method. I feel like they will be in a competition against each other and that will just create hostility and conflict altogether within the team. Performance appraisals are basically evaluations to provide information on whether the worker is meeting the minimum requirements of the job duties and basically where the worker stands. Many organizations and companies are putting together teams to complete task a faster rate and to have opinions and ideas from each other. I am a strong believer that team work is the best method for any company to accomplish a task. I also believe that as a team will all learn from each other however, I very much disagree that Rob’s idea. I feel like maybe he can do the ratings himself based on his jurisdiction and not from the team members themselves as they all want to shine and look good on their evaluation. I believe that he can also get the outsiders like his clients give an opinion on how the workers are doing on the event they requested. The client’s opinion and their personal attributable input should be considered as part of his evaluation for each and every employee working on that event. As per stated in the book “The most frequently used multi-rater system is the 360-degree feedback” (DuBrin A. J., 2012, p. 331). I agree partially with that...
