Space Speech Outline

Introduction

I. Space as we know is full of amazing events that are occurring around the clock, stars explode every day, resulting in beautiful fireworks displays called supernovas. Black holes drag in all sorts of matter into their gaping bottomless mouths. Occasionally these black holes cause so much friction from their gravitational pull that at times extremely hot material explode out of them in long jets called quasars. These are just some of the many mind boggling events that occur in the vast void that we know as space.

II. The topic of this speech is space, and the extreme events that happen out in it.

III. The information for this speech was found through the use of academic journals and other creditable articles and websites.

Body

I. One of the most beautiful events that happen in space are known as supernovas.

A. These explosions may be very pretty to look at, but the unimaginable power that is formed from the destruction of a star is terrifying.

i. The explosions caused by a super nova produces enough energy and light to outshine an entire galaxy of over 100 billion stars for more for a couple days.

ii. Depending on the size of the supernova, this dense left over chunk of star, called a neutron star, can be catapulted into space, reaching speeds of millions of miles an hour.

B. When the star explodes, it is possible for there to be a left over neutron star.

iii. This star is so dense that a single teaspoon of this matter would weigh 100 million tons.

iv. If a neutron star isn’t catapulted away by the blast of a supernova, it is possible for it to drop and become a black hole.

II. Black holes are another terrifying event that occurs in space.

C. These massive, dense, pitch black, bottomless pits eat everything within their reach, drawing in all form of matter. Not even light can escape the gravitational pull of a black hole.
