Leadership plays an essential role in the success of managing an organization. Leadership in organization is a very critical phenomenon as the leader has a substantial amount of responsibility to lead and create good organizational culture. Therefore, leaders who carry good leadership characteristics will benefit the organization and become an icon within the team. There have been many leadership theories that have evolved over time and that leadership style has evolved due to the need of adaptation of the situation.

Tony Fernandes' Leadership Style:

* Charismatic Leadership

Tony Fernandes known to be the charismatic CEO of AirAsia. Although he has received several of international awards and accolades for AirAsia and himself as a leader, Fernandes remains a very humble down-to-earth approachable boss. In fact, he does not take himself too seriously despite he is a CEO of a multibillion airline carrier.

For leadership style, Tony Fernandes adopts a “walk-around” management style. He believes in working with the employees. Every few days each month, Fernandes would work with the crew or staff. When working with his employees, Fernandes claims that he learns new things about the airlines every day and his team gets motivated and inspired by him.

The fact that Tony Fernandes took the time to work with the staff has already made him one of the best leaders. To be a good leader, one must have at least trust subordinates and experience on how the job goes with and without the employees.
