Reading has always played a great role in my life. It offers a lot to a reader whether it be to inform the reader of the life of an important person, to teach a lesson or moral or simply just to entertain one. That is why I love reading. It is my escape from the real world when life has become too hectic, crazy, stressful, unfair or sad. Other times I may be simply bored so I pick up a book and begin to live the life of an unrealistic person. One of my all times favorite piece of literature that means a lot to me would be the Junie B. Jones series.

Junie B. Jones is a fictional character I grew up with and share most of my childhood memories with. As a little girl, in school I didn’t have any friends so I would spend my time reading Junie B. Jones books in the library by myself. She was someone I felt I could relate to and would understand me if she were a real person. Junie B. Jones was my best friend throughout elementary and it was her crazy, goofy, obnoxious character that would cheer me up and forget that I didn’t have any friends at school.

That is why the Junie B. Jones series is of great meaning and value to me. She is my childhood best friend who has been with me through some rough times in school. She is someone who gets me and understands me as a person and what I’ve been through. We have a lot in common and she is such a goofball who could make my day no matter what situation or problem I may be facing and for that I am grateful and will cherish our moments together.
