Executive Summary

In this era, many businesses are having difficulty sustaining growth and profit. Businesses should always be looking for ways to cut costs and increase productivity. This can be done with the use of information systems and information technology. The construction industry is no different. This industry should also utilize IS/IT to increase productivity and profitability.

The construction industry should begin implementing IS/IT with a supply chain management system. This will allow them to better manage their suppliers and workers, as well as the various sub-contractors that are required for a project. It also helps to reduce waste.

After analyzing a study performed on the effects of automation and integration on the construction industry, it can be determined that IS/IT does in fact have a positive correlation to increasing productivity.
