As we noted from the PBS Frontline movie about McWane Corporation, public relations issues are sometimes so worrisome that professional help is required in order for a particular company to stay in business. We definitely learned something from the movie and we evaluated the company’s response to the accusations of unsafe practices. One of the biggest mistakes in Mcwane’s PR campaign was the fact that the company did not assign a spokesperson and the CEO took the position of such which was obviously a bad idea given the fact that the interview was a monologue and he was just reading already prepared speech. McWane’s behavior was highly inappropriate because it showed that the company is irresponsible and the management did not take the problems and accusations seriously.
