Innovation helps the companies to fight competition and bring about an improvement in the image and profitability of the business. For the purpose of describing the impact of innovation on organizations and their strategy, processes, products, and services, three organizations chosen; Apple, Verizon, and Southwest.

Innovation at Apple

The development of the new music products and innovations of new services like iPod, ipad, and iphone have been very valuable to achieve growth of the company in 2010.Through this innovation, the company has passed Microsoft the computer software giant, in may 2010 to become the world’s most valuable technology company (Topics.nytimes, 2010). Under the innovation, the company has to develop strategy to identify the customer’s needs because the company is working with every consumer segment. The designs of the products are for both the business segments and the consumer segment. A larger part of the customer base of the company belongs to the consumer segment (Topics.nytimes, 2010).

Apple has built an innovation factory, one that harnesses the creativity in its people, stimulating new ideas, and launching successful, profitable new innovations (Appleinnovation, 2010). Apple leverages its diverse culture, innovation processes, partners, and networks to seize the new opportunities in the marketplace and grow its business exponentially (Appleinnovation, 2010).

Innovation at Verizon

Verizon continues to introduce innovative products to adapt broadband and mobile technologies to meet the needs of all peoples. Verizon’s engineering and technology services put forward engineering design and product development services to clients who want to differentiate new product and services by embedding electronics and software.
