The game of football was first played on Novenber 6, 1869 between princeton and rutgers. Football originall evolved from the sport rugby and rules were similar to soccer. In 1881 the r rule of holding the ball to run out the clock and maintian possession was popular. This quickly became problematic and 1881 a new rule limiting each team to three downs unless a gain of minimun of five yards has taken place. If a team didnt reach the five yards there was a "turn over on downs". The foward pass wasnt introduce until 1906 and was resticted heavily. The NFL was founded 1920 and today consist of 32 team and 1,696 professional atheletes.

I have played football sincce the third grade. To me this is my passion in life. I've spent countless hours fantisizing about making it to play in front of thousands of people with my cousins and best friends. To me football is somewhere i can go as an outlet, when im on the field under the lights all problems and hardships vanish. This is the only time fir two hours i stop stressing and worrrying about school or even my family and it becomes all about me. I Although this is most likely my last year of playing football I cherish all the timesd I've stepped on the field. I see myslef as equal to any man on the field no matter how much bigger faster or stronger they are compared to me. Through my years I have won two championships and have many injuries to prove it.

The sport of football can be very dangerous, injuries such as concussions, torn mcl, acl, miniscus, broken collar bones, and more are common in football. The NFL has had many lawsuits formed against them for their miscnduct. In many instances playerrs after they have retired from the game of football suffeer from seveer injuries many of which are to their brain. The game of football comes at a cost that everyplayer knows, it will take its toll on your body and all of us agree that the game of football is worth all that comes with it.
