Rationale of the Study

Nowadays, all the needs of the people are already depending on the fast-phased technologies that make their works easier, faster, and hassle-free in doing things manually. By the use of automated systems, it improves doing jobs lesser time-consumed with accuracy and consistency, some of them were using these systems especially in their sales and inventories. Others still following the manual way and that are hard for them to facilitate and modify their sales and inventory especially in recording/retrieving data and generating reports.

In Philippines, there are a lot of establishments that offer products and services to the public at anytime. Most of them are Warehouse Supply Shops. In this study, the researchers chose J-BAS Roof Steel and Gutter Supply as their client for the proposed system. The researchers easily found out some of the problems that the proposed system is the best solution. The said client agreed with the plan and willing to participate in every task the researchers will conduct.

J-BAS Roof Steel and Gutter Supply is a company founded in 2012 and owned by Mr. Jose L. Bas. The company is working within the Roofing Contractors industry and has already 3 branches in Cebu. The main company which is the researcher’s target is located at N. Bacalso Cebu South Road, Lawaan I, 6045 Talisay City, Cebu. The company offers colored roof steel, gutters and also offers services and installments.

Like any other establishments, J-BAS Roof Steel and Gutter Supply also encounters many problems mainly in recording and tracking their sales and inventory. The records of their products were just written on a log book or a columnar notebook that the said client stated that there are some times may be misplaced or the records were miswritten by the authorized personnel who is in-charge of their sales records. Another concern of the business is having miscalculations of the pricing in every product bought.
