I. POINT OF VIEW

The case study took the point of view of the Production Manager of the Armour Garment Company. Since no further details were given about the organizational structure and size of the company. We assumed that with a large workforce and its long stay in the industry, this case study assumes that the company had a manager for production operations. The officers of the company are concerned as to whether they still have the competence to continue the business or not. Since the company has found it hard to cope with the increasing competition and changes in consumer preference, it started to deteriorate.

The production manager is tasked to manage all operations related to production in the company. Since tasks of managers vary across different organizational structures, this paper will assume that the Production manager is in charge of the equipment utilized for production, product design, innovation of products, quality control, and choosing the raw materials for production. With the given responsibilities, he is tasked to give the company’s officers a proposal as to how the company’s current dilemma may be solved.

A person who works inside the company was chosen to assure that the point of view taken has a genuine concern for the company. It also will help assure that valuable information will not reach people that may use it to ruin the company’s reputation.
