Tracked inventory:

All items to be tracked will have a barcode put on it which will be scanned into inventory. Automobiles will be tracked by their keys and a barcode put on the keychain. Each item will have all important information placed on tables in the database with locating information (out for repair, assigned, ect). Special items like shields will be tracked quarterly and assigned to places they are stored like Armory or an Automobile number.

Officers:

Officers will be tracked by badge number. They will have daily items (cars, radios, ect) and career items (gun, uniform, ect) assigned to them in the database either by barcode or identifying numbers. They will still be sent an email to inventory their items each year. The email will contain a link to a database report page with simple user interface options of just putting in item number and amount. These will be email back in a form useful to the database for tracking and running reports on incorrect items, missing items, and ect.

Daily Reports:

The daily reports will be complete on a report page similar to the how they are inputted on the Word document. The document will have a list of emails to be set to once inputting by the lead shift officer is done returning the data. The data collected from the daily report will be transferred to the inventory database thus checking out the items from inventory. At the end of their shifts officers will scan in their equipment as they put it away.

Daily use items:

Batteries and other supplies will be tracked by times and amount full (full, half, quarter, ect) only. The database will send an email each quarter to remind to check inventories and adjust the amount in stock.

Expire items:

Items that expire will be tracked by a basic item number show which item it is and when it will expire. The item will be assigned to personal or location. The database will send an alert when item is three quarters of useful like.
