Characters:
A. Alice- A worker in a hospital who wanted to retire early due to Dr. Reede’s
attitude toward their patient and staffs.
B. Betsy- One of the staffs in a hospital working together with Alice and Heather.
C. Heather- A young, recently married women and is new to Edilean who works
with Alice and Betsy.
D. Jecca Layton- A friend of Sophie and Kim and is working in a Art gallery.
E. Kim Aldredge- A jewelry-maker who is a dear friend of Sophie and Jecca since
College.
F. Dr. Reede Aldrege- Brother of Kim and is a doctor in Edilean who has a very
bad temper and a “Perfectionism” attitude.
G. Sophie Kincaid- New to Edilean and is a college friend of Kim and Jecca. She

Plot/ Summary:
Sophie never told Kim and Jecca about her unhappy early life, and when her mother died just as the three were graduating, she went home to Texas. She found she couldn't leave her twelve year-old sister to the mercies of their lazy, lecherous step-father. She stayed in Texas—often working three jobs—for five years until Lisa went off to college with Sophie's help. Now she feels an exhilarating sense of freedom...
