HISTORY OF ORGANISATION

“Sneha Kiran”

Is ray of light banishing darkness

A ray of hope enveloping every child

A ray of hope in the depths of impossibility.

Sneha Kiran which is non-profit organization established in 2002, the main aim is to provide rehabilitation and educational services for children with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Prior to the founding of Sneha Kiran of Mysore Spastic Society, Mysore lacked an all-inclusive center for children with Cerebral Palsy. This was really difficult for the families because they used to visit many locations to receive required therapy sessions for their children. In 2004, Sneha Kiran was established which provided required services for children with Cerebral Palsy under one roof. At first operations began in an industrial shed, offered rent free, and started with only six children and now there are 65 children getting treatment and education.

In June of 2011, with the commitment and support of a small group of parents, medical, paramedical professionals and well-wishers Sneha Kiran raised donations to buy a plot of land and create Mysore's first disabled-friendly center for children with cerebral palsy. This organization attends all the needs of their special children.

Sneha Kiran is the only center in Mysore that provides rehabilitation and education to this growing group of individuals, a service that has been welcomed gratefully by the parents of special children. They are trying their level best to extend their reach into rural areas neighboring Mysore in future.
