Executive Summary
Saskatchewan Provincial Park Services is a complex organization that faces a myriad of issues that stem from the following:
* Information Systems and Networking Issues
* Limited Customer Data
* Decentralized organizational and IT infrastructure.
The organization currently manages 39 parks throughout the province. A strong tourism industry and increasing demand for campsites has forced the organization to address these issues immediately. The manager of visitor services, Mathisa Curhane, is currently seeking appropriate a permanent solution that will help resolve this issue.
This report attempts to dissect this business problem primarily by analyzing the organizations strengths and weaknesses. It also looks at the current political and economic climate to determine the feasibility of the selected alternatives.
The key decision in this case is two-fold:
1. What type of reservation system should the organization implement?
2. What level of connectivity should the organization achieve?
