In most society’s around the world stel is a major resource used to satisfy many everyday needs. An increased price of this resource will lead to inflation of other resources… steel helps to create most things we use today. In the news conference on April 11, 1962, President John F. Kennedy’s remarks and concerns regarding the hike in prices of steel are developed through the use of a unifying diction and creative syntax demonstrating the American society will be better off as a whole if the prices of steel are reduced.

John F. Kennedy commentates on the hike in steel prices by using unifying diction. Throughout the course of his response, he refers to “we” which includes himself with the other American People. This shows that the president is also apart of the American society and that whatever happens within the steel industry also affects him and his family. Being able to state this on he on shows that he does not think American Citizen problems do not apply to him. I know that if I knew that my president placed himself in our shoes, a lot of respect for him would accumulate. Another way unifying diction is used in his speech come from his use of “our”. Here again he includes himself with the other Americans building relationships with the people. This exemplifies that the problems of America do not only apply to the American People’s, but they also become problems of the presidents. Kennedy attempts to place a positive view with his name, which reflects itself within the American society. John F. Kennedy also uses words like “every American citizen” and “I do”, this again shows how the president unifies with the American people and takes some of the blame for the problems of inflation that continue to arise.
