Overview
This class deals with the application of financial theory to cases of corporate financial policy. In particular, we will discuss corporate financial decision making in the following contexts: investment decisions, capital structure decisions, strategic investment analysis and corporate control-related decisions.
The course is designed to allow the students to apply the principles learned in their first corporate finance course to “real world” decision situations via cases. Financial decisions, however, are not made in a vacuum and many other disciplines (e.g., Business Law, Accounting, Marketing, Operations, etc.) offer valuable insight to the decisions at hand. We will develop a framework for making and evaluating corporate policies and strategic decisions from the perspective of their impact on shareholder value.

3. Case packet. The cases and some outside readings are in here. Required.
