The immense controversy that surrounds vaccinations is serious issue in today’s world. Parents are choosing to not get their children vaccinated. Parents should be morally responsible to have their children vaccinated if they want to live in a civilized society. Society should be educated on the facts of vaccines; once more people understand they will choose to be vaccinated. In the following pages I will work to find the reasons why children are not being vaccinated and a solution to the problem of parents not getting their children vaccinated and stop the spread of dangerous diseases in the United States.

The use of vaccinations is extremely important in today’s world. The world is full of disease and the use of vaccinations can help decrease the amount of people affected by disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2013), vaccinations are seen as a major public health achievement in the 20th century. There has been a vast decrease in the number or deadly diseases since the start of vaccinations. With the anti-vaccination movement, there has been a resurgence of certain diseases. It is imperative that everyone be vaccinated for these deadly diseases that could plague us as a nation. Certain states are allowing parents who are misinformed to allow their children to not be vaccinated.

Assumptions have been made by many regarding vaccinations and how they are not good for children. Parents have not done their due diligence in researching the use of vaccinations. It is unfortunate that it is much easier and quicker to find negative information on vaccinations than it is to find the positive information. Celebrities have taken to social media to voice their view of vaccinations. Social media is a quick way for anti-vaccination articles to spread. These articles are not scientifically backed but the general public doesn't always have the skills to understand what a credible source is.
