The following points are my personal notes from studying R.A Torrey
who inspired me. Credit is due to his work and theological insight.

The personality of the Holy Spirit.
First of all, it is important to know the Holy Spirit as a person for It prevents false
fire’s.
The importance of the personality of the Holy Spirit.
1). It has the Highest importance from the standpoint of worship.
Worship Him as a person or els; we can not worship a thing or a power.
It will rob Him of the worship He must receive if we dont see Him as a person.
2). It is important from a practical standpoint.
If He is a person we ask How can He get hold of me.
If we see Him as a influence or power we ask; How can we get hold of Him.
The same aplies to getting more of Him , or Him getting more of me.
3). It is important from a standpoint of experience.
The experience towards a person is more deep and intimate than just a power
or influence.
Proof of the personality of the Holy spirit.
1). All the distinctive marks or characteristics of personality is ascribed to the Holy
Spirit. (Knowledge, feeling, will)( having a body or the marks of corporeity
doesn’t show necessarily personality).
1.1). 1 Cor. 2: 11. The characteristic of knowledge.
1.2). 1 Cor. 12:11. The characteristic of will.
1.3). Rom 8:27
All three characteristics in the greek(word) mind
“Phronema”.
1.4). Rom 15:30
The love of the Spirit.
1.5). Neh 9:20.
Intelligence and goodness.
1.6). Eph 4:30.
Can be grieved.( Feeling).
2). Manny actions are ascribed to the Holy Spirit that only a person can perform.
2.1). 1 Cor 2:10
He searches.
2.2). Rom 8:26.
2.3). John 14:26.
He prayes. (remember Jesus also prayes for us 1John
2;1/ Heb 7:25)
