The Problem

Introduction

On the survey conducted by TNS, a global research company, in year 2012, it showed that 45 percent of the Filipino respondents are using the internet to get information which compared to 36 percent in the year 2011. The remaining percentage are divided into newspaper, magazine, listening to radio and watching TV. Using internet requires a subscription from an internet service provider (ISP). In present, different internet service provider offers several internet or data plan including unlimited and consumable plans. These plans are under the fair use policy (FUP) which states the rules and restrictions being implemented. The FUP controls the user’s activity like data usage and consumption. Most ISP nowadays implements a data limit on unlimited plans and also decreasing the bandwidth of a user exceeding the normal standards of use. This is in accordance to the industry practice of telecommunications providers all over the world that ensure the equal service to all customers or subscribers.

On the other side of this policy, how will a customer maximize the internet privileges within an internet plan subscription? How can a user maintain the normal standard use of internet besides of more activities over the web?

A user can surf the web using a mobile gadget such as smartphones, and iPods. Another one, a user can use computers such as stationary computers like desktop PC, gaming PC and etc. Portable computers like laptop, tablet and netbooks can also be used. All of them are equipped with a software application called browser. Using this application, you can interact with all information in the World Wide Web. A browser was designed under the requirement of a certain device.

Generally, a user use the browser in surfing the web, doing some different activities like streaming, downloading and browsing different kind of information. Browsing activities consumed data over the network. But how a user minimize the data...
