I. Objectives and Scope
The objective of this Group Activity is to analyze and understand the global competitive market and the changing view on operations of business leaders towards their respective firms and how it has changed their leadership style and strategy.
The scope of this activity is to answer the following queries based on the PwC 2015 Global Operations Survey:
A. What are the Operations challenges for their respective company?
B. What's the primary emphasis in Operations?
C. How and in what direction does Operation maturing?
D. What are the implications of Operations aligning with business strategy?

A. Challenges in Operations
1) Understanding what customers value (63%)
Most company operations are not designed to deliver what the customers actually value. Due to this, it is expected that changes in customer behavior are set to disrupt businesses in all industries over the next five years.
To be successful now and in the future, companies need to design their operations around their customers, that way, operations teams can make appropriate tradeoffs and more timely decisions when inevitable changes come.
2) Changing Direction (61%) and Managing complexity (55%)
Due to the inability to understand what the customers value, it becomes a challenge
for operations to change direction when markets, customer needs, or enterprise
strategies change. As such, most operations are stretched too thin that when one team tries to innovate, the Company come in direct conflict with an operational assignment to cut costs – or they create some new complexity that’s harder to manage.
