Project Scope

Riordan Manufacturing has requested a complete overhaul of the current Human Resources process. Currently, the Human Resources process is spread across several non-compatible applications. The client has requested that these disparate applications be integrated into an all-inclusive Human Resources system. The new Human Resources system will include the existing Human Resources system capabilities integrated into a single system that increases efficiency by eliminating the need to use several programs to execute the full range of Human Resources activities. Training and system documentation will be updated to reflect the changes to Human Resources division processes and activities executed in the newly integrated system.

Project Feasibility Assessment

Technical: The technical risks of this service request are high. System Developers and programmers will be required to gain in depth knowledge of several unique applications to properly include their capabilities into an integrated system. Additionally, the scope of the project is large. A complex integrated Human Resources system will require highly complex program code with significant testing to ensure proper functioning in the post development phase. Integration costs will be negligible however. The new Human Resources system will be designed from the start to integrate into existing network technology. No further technical feasibility issues are anticipated.

Economic: The economic risks associated with this service request are significant as well. The integration of disparate Human Resources programs into a single system will require a detailed review of the current systems and their features. A thorough document review and hands on testing of the current systems will also be required. Application development costs for the final program will be large.
