INTRODUCTIONS

In this assignment I’ll be giving an overview of past, present and possible future concerns of development planning in the Third World by providing A description and discussion of the focus of development planning since the 1940 and also discussion of either gender or globalization as a contemporary development problem that will influence development planning in years to come

There many definitions of developments and I will just give a few of them. (Dale 2004:1) development is an “ongoing process of change” and is directed ta human beings the strong desire for development that is especially characteristic of this century is symptomatic of people’s needs to order their social and physical environment. Development should be defined and specialized in relation to groups of people, development is for the people –related problems and those problems should be addressed and removed through some planned action(Dale 2004:1&2)

And more recently, development has been defined as an actual historical and material occurrence. A significant change in the economic, social, political and cultural conditions affecting large groups of people.

It’s about the change as something that is brought about for a specific purpose. (Rogers and dwined et al)
