Each individual has those specific traits and well learned abilities that turn them into unique beings, these are based on knowledge instead of specific likes and dislikes. I as a determined spec of the group of individuals called humanity, have a set of particular subjects at which I am good at. Throughout my academic career I have been known to excel in any class regarding mathematics and English; however, what has been the key to my success on these academic points? In order to answer this question I have to look deep inside on my works and efforts for the high grades I have achieved on these areas. Indeed, there are various factors that I would attribute as to being the root of my successes in the mentioned subjects.

First and foremost, one of the components to my success has been natural ability. Some people, for example, are good at art by nature, and others like me can only draw stick figures but are rather good at solving mathematical problems and understanding literature. This is to be expected since I come from a family in which most of us are good at no less than one of those areas. A proof of this can be that one of my older siblings is, in fact, a math teacher at a local middle school. Another example would be that of one of my uncles formerly worked at a magazine editorial; he won multiple awards and is now trying to create his own magazine. It is no secret that a variety of traits, such as complex problem solving and critical analyzing, can be passed on from generation to generation. Therefore, I can thank my family for inheriting the general skills that permit me to perform with an ease to a certain extent in these areas of study.

A factor that has helped me expand beyond my natural ability is patience with myself and the material. Anxiety is a student’s greatest enemy in the field of education and life itself.
