Part B-1

Specific stability requirements for ro-ro passenger

ships

Regulation 25-1

Application

This part shall apply to the following ro-ro passenger ships

operating to and from a port of an EU member State on a

regular service, regardless of their flag, when engaged on

domestic voyages:

New ro-ro passenger ships of classes A, B and C shall

comply wit the specific stability requirements of this part.

Existing ro-ro passenger ships of classes A, B and C shall

comply with the specific stability requirements of this

part no later than on 1 October 2010, unless they are

phased out on that date or on a later date on which they

reach the age of 30 years but in any case not later than 1

October 2015.

High-speed passenger craft as defined in regulation I/2.7 shall

not be required to comply with the provisions of this part,

provided that they have been surveyed and certified in

accordance with the provisions of regulation I/4.4.
