1. What does AERA stand for?

- The Air Emissions Risk Analysis

2. What does RASS stand for?

- The Risk Analysis Screening Spreadsheet.

3. Under the “Summary” tab, what are the 3 main screening categories listed under the “Air Toxics Screen” listing?

• Total inhalation screening hazard indices and cancer risks

• Total indirect pathway screening hazard indices and cancer risks

• Total multi-pathway screening hazard indices and cancer risks

4. What are the risk subcategories listed under the “Total Inhalation Screening Hazard Indices and Cancer Risks”?

• Acute

• Sub-chronic non-cancer

• Chronic cancer

• Cancer

5. What are the other subcategories for the other two categories? Why do you think they separate this into “farmer”, “urban gardener”, and “resident”?

• Farmer cancer and non-cancer

• Urban gardener cancer and non-cancer

• Resident gardener cancer and non-cancer

Why? For easy evaluation or risk screening exposure I suppose – these subcategories may well have different level of exposure to these emissions, with respect to the activities. A farmer or gardener may, in some cases be exposed to emissions near its vicinity, if it works in the open.

6. How many different air toxics are potentially evaluated in this process? See “Emissions” tab.

- 324

7. What are the various dispersion timeframes listed under the “StkDisp” tab?

- 1-hr, 3-hr, 8-hr, 24-hr, monthly and annual

8. Is benzene a “Persistent Bioaccumulative” toxic? See “RiskCalcs” tab.

- No

9. What is the “Annual Cancer Assessment” “Unit Risk” value (ug/m3) for Dimethy aminoazobenzene and what is the source of this health risk value?

- Unit risk = 1.3E-03

- Toxic value source - CAL EPA - California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment

10. What is the dispersion value (see DispTables tab) for a 1-hour averaging time for a stack height of 25 feet at a downwind distance of 80 meters?

- 807
