Tittle Order : EARLY MARRIAGES

General Purpose : To inform

Specific Purpose : To inform the audience not to have early marriage.

Central Idea : Married at early age may cause for many reasons and the most common are economic, health and social problem.

Introduction

1. “Should girls marry early?” “How early is early?” Depends on the “girl” because all “girl” take different amount of time to become WOMEN. Girls shouldn’t marry, women should.

2. We are always searching a partner to be together forever, and share the life, but some people search for it too young.

3. The age at early marriage variegates across the globe and has been a social norm in the third world countries.

4. The percentage of women being married before age 18 estimated from 20-50% average in developing countries.

5. So today, I would like to tell you why you should not have early marriage.

(Transition: Let’s start with why early marriage happens?)

Body

1. Why early marriage?

The main reason is economic survival.

i. Poor families may regards a young girl as economic burden as her marriage as a necessary survival strategy for her family.

ii. Family to off-load a daughter who is considered a burden to them is to marry her to man that could be protected.

iii. I believed that investment in girl’s education is wasted when she simply going to be married and work in another household. There is a clear connection between early marriage and low educational attainment.

(Transition: Now you know why early marriage happens, let’s see the other reason effect to early marriage.)

2. Health of young girl may affect the early marriage.

i. Pregnancy follows which owing to lack of nutritious food and adequate rest leads to a number of complications.
