IV. Summary of the Main Idea

This book essentially provides guidelines and advices from the Cultural Provocateur George Lois for eager and talented artists who aspires to be successful in the line of Digital Art, Marketing and most significantly, Advertising. The main objective of this book is to share his experiences in this field to inspire, guide and spark a fire of motivation and creativity to his readers. Repeatedly discussed in his book is the idea of being bold than safe because if one person would want to do great advertising, he should push his thoughts to the very rim of insanity but not too far that he will plunge to a scorching death. Also, the process of coming up of the Big Idea that should be done not for profit, but for perfection is a concept that the author constantly reminds his readers of. Justified by the entirety of the book, there are endless ways to make the most out of ourselves as thoroughly discussed by one hundred twenty bite-size pointers written in this so-called ‘bible’.

V. New Ideas I learned

There are numerous concepts that I have learned and realized through reading this book. First, I learned that all creativity should be communicated in a nanosecond because in order to produce great advertising, it should connect instantly to human brain and heart to make it memorable. Another new idea is that a trend is always a trap because advertising is an art and the solution to each new problem should begin with a blank canvas and an open mind.
