A Life Altering Event

The moment Nicole walked outside, she never expected to witness someone’s life taken from them. She lived in a small, quiet, and usually peaceful trailer park. It was the morning of July 6, 2011 in Pierre Part, Louisiana. The sun was rising and it shone bright through her window. Nicole saw a very gruesome and tragic murder-suicide. The emotions she felt from this tragic event left a negative impact on her. The aftermath of this event left Nicole with painful memories she couldn’t forget. The murder-suicide Nicole witnessed was an unforgettable sight, filled with anguished emotions, and it led her to a long road of recovery.

The moment Nicole walked outside, she heard her neighbor screaming and saw him pointing a gun towards his girlfriend, who at the time, was holding her child and she was also standing near her father. She heard the girl begging for her life and in a quick instance she heard a loud explosion that sounded like fireworks on a 4th of July night. Nicole’s eyes opened wide because all she saw was the girl’s head exploding and pieces of her shattering everywhere. Her blood was splattered all over her child and her father. The guy then turned the gun on himself, and Nicole heard another loud explosion. The guy fell to the ground and Nicole saw his body jumping around. His face looked in total horror as he gasped for air to breathe. She ran inside her trailer, grabbed her phone and called 911. When Nicole heard loud sirens, she ran outside and saw police and ambulances driving fast down her street. Nicole and her neighbor walked across the street to go help the victim’s father and child. As she sat the father down, Nicole and the neighbor started cleaning him up. He was covered in dark red blood that smelled like rotted flesh, and he had his daughter’s brain matter stuck in his hair and all over his clothes. Nicole has seen many horror films but...
