Philadelphia, PANJ South Camden Theatre Company, a nonprofit professional theatre organization
located in Camden, New Jersey concludes its eleventh season of theatre in the city with the regional
premiere and three week production of A LOVELY SUNDAY FOR CREVE COEUR. Opening Friday April 29
at 8p.m. the play is written by Tennessee Williams and directed by Connie Norwood. The cast includes
McKenzie Jones Clifford, Lee Kiszonas, Laura Aspen and Sheila W. Kurilla.
A LOVELY SUNDAY FOR CREVE COEUR is a seldom seen heartwarming comedy from American master
playwright Tennessee Williams. The play, written later in his career, portrays four women in 1930's St.
Louis Missouri as they struggle for independence in their quest to find love and happiness. Set at a time
when the role of women in American society was in flux the four women all choose different paths to do
what was necessary to secure their futures and ensure their prosperity. The play's theme ultimately became
the basis for the highly successful TV series The Golden Girls in the 1980s.
Producing Artistic Director Joseph M. Paprzycki states, "I saw A LOVELY SUNDAY FOR CREVE COEUR at
the 2014 Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival in Provincetown, Massachusetts. I instantly fell in love
with the play as it shows a side of Tennessee Williams you will not expect and rarely see. This play is a
comedy with the brilliant poetry of Tennessee weaved in throughout and with an ending that you only
would expect from a writer of this caliber. SCTC is known for its exceptional productions of Tennessee
