Introduction

Nanotechnology is commonly known as nanotech and it is the manipulation of matter on a molecular, supra-molecular and atomic scale. The core objective in nanotechnology applications is to conduct a research that is inclusive of all types of technologies and research that look into the special properties of matter. Interestingly, nanotechnology may be used to create diverse materials and devices in different fields such as; consumer products, electronics, biomaterials energy production and medicine. This study will focus on the current application of nanotechnology applications in fields such as medicine, air and water purification, engineering, agriculture, full cell development and space exploration. It will also outline examples of real world applications in use in the contemporary society.

In the medicine field, nanotechnology is referred to as nanomedicine. It encompasses the use of medical applications of nanomaterials, nanoelectronic biosensors, and biological devices as well as future applications of molecular nanotechnology. This field seeks the delivery of clinically useful devices and valuable set of research tools in the near future. Its core aim is to formulate new commercial applications in the pharmaceutical industry which will comprise of new therapies, vivo imaging and advanced drug delivery (Boisseau, & Loubaton, 2011). Nanomedicine assists in drug delivery, tissue engineering, blood purification, cancer treatment, sensing and visualization. Examples are: a flesh welder that fused two pieces of chicken meat into a single piece using a suspension of gold-coated nanoshells activated by an infrared laser, nanonephrology, the use of nanomedicine on the kidney and Kanzius RF therapy (.Martis et al, 2012)

Green nanotechnology may refer to the application of nanotechnology in the enhancement of the environmental sustainability of all processes that produce negative...
